I was recently approached by a local Paddle Maker, John Buchanan to design and make a practical leather hanger to store and display his beautiful handmade paddles (note: the pictured paddle is one he made) After letting the idea ruminate in my head or a little while I then came up with this simple and elegant solution.
Made with a single piece of thick vegetable tanned leather, trimmed with a brass rivet and D-ring this hanger adjusts to fit over the paddle handle and then cinches around the paddle neck to hold it in place . The vertical hanger is a perfect storage solution for the boathouse or for your wall at home when you want to show off that prized paddle as a decorative piece. Hanging storage also reduces the chance of your paddle warping over time.
